An Introduction to OpTrust

Educational Bundle

The OpTrust Educational Bundle includes an interactive educational development session for faculty and trainees, which features: behavioral techniques of progressive entrustment, shared mental models, learning theory, and regulatory focus and motivational fit.

Entrustment Assessment

The OpTrust measurement tool enables third-party observational rating of intraopertive entrustment for both faculty and trainees.

OpTrust Impact


The OpTrust Educational Bundle has been delivered to over 500 surgical faculty across the United States.


Over 300 surgical trainees from surgical training programs across the country have participated in OpTrust education.


OpTrust assessment is currently being used at five academic medical centers in the US, with plans to include new sites shortly.
